Bengals Re-sign Tyler Eifert

One Year “Prove It” Deal for the Eifert Tower

The Bengals re-sign Tyler Eifert to a one year deal worth $8 million.

I like it. This is a best case scenario for the Bengals; as it seems the deal is pretty incentivized.

What I mean by that, is that most of the money will come from playing time. If Eifert gets hurt, Bengals won’t have too pay much for him to sit.

But on the flip-side… IF Eifert stays healthy, this is a massive steal for the Bengals.

Tyler is a top 5 TE when he’s healthy, and our offense is that much better with him out there. Especially in the Red Zone.

Don’t like the re-signing? Well again.. If he can’t stay healthy, we’re not just throwing money away.

It was hard to tell what kind of contract Eifert would have received. But with him missing more games then he played (missed 41, played 39) – this was a major problems for other interested parties.

He was not a big name through tampering and the first “official” singing day. If Eifert received any other contracts possibilities I’d assume they’d be identical to this Bengals contract.

Soo.. Grade: B+, Great signing!

If he can’t stay healthy, then no problem = The Bengals simply move on next year.

But next year the Bengals will have to re-sign DT Geno Atkins, DE Carlos Dunlap, CB Darqueze Dennard, and now… Tyler Eifert. This shit won’t be cheap!
