Vontaze Burfict Facing Suspension for PEDs

Don’t hate on the man yet, let’s check the facts.

You know what I just LOVE (sarcasm)?

The NFL hating on Vontaze Burfict.

Everyone had a field day when the suspension of Burfict for using PED (performance enhancing drugs) broke. But people don’t know what the full story is, because the NFL loves to report the negative shit on Burfict.

So let’s see the full story.

While the NFL is doing everything in its power to bring down Burfict, they forgot to bring up one very important detail:

Didn’t read it? I’ll explain it. It’s quite simple.

Burfict was taking Prednisones (medical steroids) to recover from injuries. These were prescribed by the team doctors.

Remember when JuJu had that dirty hit that gave Burfict a concussion? Well the concussion was bad enough that the team doctors had to prescribe him steroids. As someone who has suffered from concussions before – medical steroids help.

But NO – Prednisones are not the PED type steroids that you’re thinking of.

These do not make you into the workout warrior; they literally just swell up pain.

But wait… as soon as Burfict came back against the Lions, he suffered a shoulder injury that looked nasty. Nasty aka he suffered a level 3 shoulder sprain and guess what the team doctors put him back on?

That’s right, the Prednisones.

The drug test was December 27th.

The injury against the Steelers was December 4th.

He wasn’t cleared until the week against the Lions on the 24th. It usually takes drugs like those up to two weeks to get out of your system. So unless Burfict knew the drug test date (unlikely, since they don’t tell players when they are) and had the bright idea to stop taking it the 13th (the week before cleared); the medicine would still be in his body.

Burfict was diagnosed with his bad shoulder sprain right after the Lions game, so he most likely started taking his medicine again a couple days before the drug test.

Common sense, y’all.

After the Steelers game, Bengals were eliminated from the playoffs. Burfict was taking the medical steroids at the earliest December 13th.

So let’s say these were actually PEDs, why would he start when he’s injured and bulk up when Bengals were ALREADY eliminated from the playoffs?!

That just doesn’t make sense.

If Burfict can prove that these Prednisones were for medical reasons and did not influence his play, the suspension should go away.

But everyone likes to clown on Burfict, so who cares about “facts”..
